Wondering how you can get more out of your Facebook page? Here are 4 quick tips that you can use to gain more visibility and clients from your Facebook page.
1. Landing Page. The most important thing to do with your Facebook page is have a fantastic landing page with a call to action. Studies by various PR firms have shown that having a landing page increases likeability. http://www.tabsite.com offers a free service that allows you to create a unique and customized Facebook landing page. Upload your logo and include a little bit of text about your business including a call to action. Then make the landing page static so that when clients or customers come to your page the first thing they see is you shiny, new landing page.
2. Regular Updates. Studies show that after becoming fans of your page, people will almost never come to your Facebook page again. Instead they will just see your updates in their newsfeed. So that means you have to have updates! Post news about your business as well as links to a resources that may be useful to your clients. Post your blog articles as well.
3. Custom URL. If your Facebook page URL is a jumbled up series of letters and numbers, it’s not going to be memorable. Instead create a customized web address for your Facebook page that looks like this: www.facebook.com/yourbusiness. Go to http://www.facebook.com/username (make sure you are logged in to Facebook), choose which page you want to have a custom web address from the drop down menu and then set your unique URL. Now you have an awesome, custom URL to share with potential clients and customers.
Note: You must obtain at least 25 fans to set a custom URL. Don’t have enough fans yet? Read on!
4. Run a Contest. Need more Facebook fans? One way to increase visibility of your Facebook page is to run a contest where your followers and fans can win something of value (a relevant book or one of your products or services, perhaps). Announce your contest on Twitter, Linked In and your blog and direct folks to write a comment to a question on your Facebook page or to become a fan of your Facebook page for a chance to win something.
