Facebook has been around for years, but businesses have just recently jumped on board the social networking bandwagon within the last 2 -3 years. With a profile limit of 5,000, many businesses have turned to the limitless Facebook Fan Pages to lead their social media revolutions.
Facebook has over 600 million users. Have you adopted a Facebook Marketing strategy to engage your customers yet?
Here are 12 entrepreneurial women who want to share with you their inside tips to building a loyal following using Facebook:
*Make Your Facebook Page Unique*
The most effective Facebook Pages create unique fresh content on a regular basis. It’s not about replicating what’s on your website, or putting out the same messages that you may already promote via email and twitter. I learned that over time!
It’s about getting personal and creating content that will build a community, showcase your own personality, or that of your business and engage with your fans. Check out Entrepreneurs Inc page and click on Vitamin Water’s page shown here.
Depending on what your organization does, this could mean anything from sharing fun facts about you, your business or a relevant topic, posting details of an upcoming event your holding or attending through to publishing pictures of recent work, a new product release or a customer you’ve worked with.

*Ask Questions*
“I started a facebook page for my consulting business last year and have grown it to 550 followers so far. I have several ways that I use my page, but one of the things I recommend is to elicit interaction with the people who “like” your page. Periodically I will post a question on my wall and request their input or ask for ideas on a particular topic. I think it helps to build relationships with your fans in addition to discovering and meeting their needs.”

*Connecting Your FaceBook*
“I have several FaceBook fan pages for business. One of the most important things I’ve done is link each to its own unique Twitter account and begun tying each into their own social media presence. So I am multi-branding myself and my brands. Then set up a mobile upload for each fan page so that you can send things to specific pages anytime, anywhere. Once you set up the connections to Twitter be sure to check each one to make sure that posts and tweets are flowing back and forth between the two. Then develop your Twitter following for each account/fan page to grow targeted followers. And don’t forget to occasionally have one account retweet a post from the other account.”

*Social Media Can Be a Life Line for the Growth of Your Business*
At our small group learning sessions and private coaching, we often teach how the social media technology available today can help any small business grow. Social media is unique as a business success tool, in that your only investment is your time and creativity. As a reward for your commitment, you have crafted a dynamic environment where your current clients can reach out to you to tell their story about using your product or services; and potential customers can learn more about what you have to offer, and appreciate your level of expertise. Most importantly, social media moves companies away from the old world environment of the cold, untouchable business, to a new plane of positive and friendly communication where customers and business owners can continuously interact and learn from each other. What better way to provide what your customer wants then to ask them what they want?”

work with think of a Facebook fan page as an extension to their website. They want to build fancy landing tabs and put up exorbitant amounts of information to push out to fans like a wood pecker pecks at a tree — all while paying an arm and a leg for the designers, consultants, etc. (unlike the wood pecker, who pecks for free) The reality, folks, is that fans simply don’t return to your fan page — they might click ‘like’ and then are off to check out their friend’s latest pics and status updates.I created a Face
book page for Alliance of Women Filmmakers which produces the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival. I use Facebook in two ways. First, I have established it as a resource for women filmmakers to share their production stories and get support for their projects. I did this by choosing settings that allow the women to post on the page. The only problem is I have to carefully monitor it and constantly remove unwanted solicitations. Second, I use the page for publicity by letting the accepted filmmakers post information about their films including when it screens at the festival. With each filmmaker creating their own buzz it increases the awareness of the entire festival.
